Carbon Laser Peel: The “Black Doll” Facial
-
Also known as the "Black Doll" facial due to the application of a charcoal-base mask before laser treatment.
An extremely popular option for mild to moderate skin issues, this treatment is a superficial treatment that helps acne, enlarged pores, oily skin and uneven skin tone by eliminating oil, debris and bacteria in the pores. You may need multiple treatment to see effects on acne. The treatment is non-irritating, so it doesn't make inflamed skin feel worse during treatment. In addition to acne, carbon laser peels may also improve:
Signs of premature again
Dull complexion, tone and texture
Fine lines and wrinkles
Oily skin
Dark spots
Mild acne scars
-
A carbon laser peel typically involves the following steps:
PREP: We prep your skin by thoroughly cleansing the treated area.
APPLY: A dark-colored cream with high carbon content is applied to your skin. This lotion is an exfoliating treatment that helps prepare the skin for the next steps. The mask will sit on your face for several minutes to let dry. As the lotion dries, it bonds with dirt, oil and other contaminants on the surface of your skin.
TREAT: A pulsed laser destroys the carbon particles and any oil, dead skin cell, bacteria or other impurities on your face. The heat from the process also signals a healing response in your skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production to make your skin look firmed.
RECOVER: We also offer a complimentary medical-grade face mask and cooling facial massage after the laser treatment to further hydrate, plump, and enhance your skin treatment results.
-
Because the laser is a superficial 30-minute treatment where the skin is not penetrated too deeply, there is very little recovery time.
-
Although you may notice significant improvement and results immediately after one treatment, we often suggest multiple carbon laser peels for maximum effectiveness--often four to six appointments spaced several weeks apart. A consultation with our Aesthetic Nurse can help you decide how many treatments you may need to achieve your skin and aesthetic goals.
Laser Services: Removal Treatments
Laser Tattoo Removal
-
Tattoos used to be considered permanent, but thanks to advances in laser technology, today's lasers can get rid of tattoos more safely and effectively, including removing tattoo ink with fewer treatments and treating ink colors that were once difficult to remove.
-
Rejuva Fresh's ND Pro Tattoo Removal laser is a ND: YAG laser that produces a wavelength of 1064 nm that can be naturally doubled to 532 nm; this combination of wavelength ensures that 95% of ink colors can be treated with the laser for fading and removal of tattoos. This happens by using the laser's energy to break down the ink in a tattoo into small particles that can filtered out by the body:
The laser's energy is absorbed by the ink in the tattoo.
The ink heats up and shatters into small particles.
The body's immune system processes and eliminates the shattered ink particles.
-
If you would like to completely eliminate your unwanted tattoo, you will probably need to receive six to twelve laser sessions. To give your body ample time to react to your sessions, we will wait six to eight weeks between each appointment.
Hyperpigmentation Removal
-
Our professional tattoo removal laser machines works to remove all sorts of unwanted spots and hyperpigmentations, including melasma, freckles, birthmarks, rosacea, post-acne erythema and more.
-
The Q-switched ND: YAG laser has been used for over a decade to remove well-defined brown spots, and most patients only need one treatment.
The technology works by using the laser's nanosecond pulses to break down excess pigmentation in the skin, and then ultimately removed by the body's immune system.
-
Number of Treatments: You may need 2-6 treatments to completely achieve your desired aesthetic goals, but the number can vary depending on the size of the areas being treated.
Treatment Frequency: Treatments can be performed every 1-2 weeks.
Spot Treat: Plasma Pen Therapy
-
Plasma pen therapy treats age spots, skin tags, moles and warts by targeting fibroblasts. These are collagen- and protein-producing cells in the dermis, the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer. Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness.
-
Skin Tightening: The plasma pen's micro-traumas and heat increase collagen and elastin production, which tightens and firms the skin. This can help with loose skin, such as jowls, turkey neck or lower eyelid skin.
Remove Unwanted Skin Imperfections: The plasma pen uses its high-tech electrical energy to completely remove and resurface minor brown spots, moles, skin tags and warts with no blood, cutting, stitches, scarring and with little to no pain.
-
We apply the plasma fibroblast therapy with a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin. The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates micro-injuries in the skin’s layer, which triggers the body's natural healing response.
The Science
Plasma Pen Therapy is a nonsurgical treatment that may be used to treat minor age spots and remove moles, skin tags or warts.
-
We begin the procedure by cleansing the treated area and apply a numbing cream. You may need to wait about 20-30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.
-
We will then treat the designated skin area with the plasma pen. The pen will create small arcs of microcurrents that make scab-like dots on the skin. The procedure usually takes 30-60 minutes to perform.
The Procedure
The procedure is painless and lasts around 30 minutes, with 20 minutes of prep work. You can expect to be at our clinic for 1.5 hours.
The Results
After your treatment, it is important you follow post-treatment instructions to ensure maximum benefits of plasma pen therapy.
-
Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1-2 weeks. Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmed. Some people may see benefits from one treatment, while others may require repeated treatments, 4-8 weeks apart from each other.
-
As you recover, let your skin heal to avoid scarring. The tiny wounds which have been created, then develop a scab or crust. This looks like small brown/black spots all over the skin which has been treated. The key to scarring or not scarring is partly due to how you look after the scabs. To avoid scarring, you need to:
Keep the scabs dry and clean.
Do not pick them—let them drop off, even though they may cause itchiness.
Don’t use anything which can tangle or tug them off.
Once they’ve dropped off, make sure you protect the skin with high SPF for at least 1 month.

Age spots, also known as liver spots, are caused by overactive pigment cells that produce too much melanin in response to ultraviolet (UV) ligth exposure. This process can occur over a lifetime of sun exposure and can lead to the development of age spots on areas of the skin that exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, shoulders and arms. Moles are a common type of skin growth. They often appear as small, dark brown spots that are caused by clusters of pigment-forming cells during melanocytes. We remove moles with plasma pen therapy, passing an electric current through the upper layers of the skin. You may need more than one treatment to remove a mole.
-
Skin tags are small, benign growths that tend to be the same color as your skin. They often look like a cluster of skin tissue extending out from a tiny stem. They're sometimes darker and may resemble a raised mole. Most skin tags are between 1-5 mm, but some can grow as large as a few centimeters. We remove the skin tag by passing an electric current through the stem that attaches the skin tag to the skin and prevent any bleeding.

Warts are benign growths that can develop on your skin. Warts are generally harmless, but they can be bothersome and sometimes painful. There are many types of warts:
Common Warts: Typically appear on your hands and can feel like rough bumps and can have black dots that look like seeds.
Plantar Warts: Typically form on your feet. They often grow flat or grow inward and can have black dots. They can become quite large and cause pain when you stand or walk.
Mosiac Warts: These warts are white and about the size of a pinhead. They typically form on the balls of your feet or under your toes, but they can spread and cover larger areas of your foot.
Flat Warts: These warts can develop anywhere on your body. They're smaller and smoother than other warts and tend to grow in large numbers, such as 20 to 100 at a time.
Filform Warts: These warts look like long threads that stick out. They often grow on your face--around your mouth, eyes and nose.
